About this Training Package
This CDROM training package describes the operation of Sypol's CMS (COSHH Management System) and has been developed in conjuction with Transocean's Health & Safety team. It provides important information in handling chemicals safely in the workplace. Launched in 1990 and continuously updated to take advantage of the latest technological advances, CMS meets the COSHH needs of any organsation who is concerned about the Safety of their employees.

1. General Introduction
Welcome to Sypol's COSHH Management System. This video will give you a brief overview on the systems functions
2. Work Areas
This video will be looking at the Work Areas and Sub Work Areas of the CMS system including how to create, edit and archive them.
3. Assessments
This video will take you through the basic editing functions on the CMS system. This will cover how to view existing assessments already in place, and inserting new assessments into your Work Areas.
4. CARQ
This video will cover the request process for new materials or additional activities onto existing materials. This is done using the COSHH Assessment Request Questionnaire Form (CARQ Form).
5. Decision Module
This video will take you through the functions of the Decision Module. This is a tool on the CMS system that allows users to work out their exposures to a substance, particularly with regards to the requirement of performing monitoring and health surveillance as required by COSHH regulations 10 and 11.
6. Printing
This video will cover the various printing functions available on the CMS system.
7. IMC
This video will take you through the Internal Material Code (IMC) functions for CMS COSHH assessments. This allows you to put in your own references onto an assessment which will be printed out.
8. Copy
This video will cover the copying functions available on the CMS sytem. Assessments can be copied from any Work area or Sub Area into another, whether or not it already contains existing assessments. Any duplicate assessments will not be copied.
9. Attachments
This video will take you through the Attachment functions for CMS COSHH assessments.
10. Reporting Tools
This video will cover the various Reporting systems that exist on the CMS database.
11. The CMS Assessment explained
This video will take you through the information that is found on the printed assessment.
