The health, wellbeing and safety of an organisations key asset, its workforce, is at the heart of success.
The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is a globally recognised standard held by over 100,000 staff operating at all levels and as such has become a primary undertaking for organisations wishing to achieve this goal.
Designed for all managers, supervisors or professionals who influence Health & Safety, this 3 part award covers the main legal requirements for health, safety and risk management in the UK, a range of typical workplace hazards, and their methods of control.
Requirements and background
- Delegates will undertake a 2 hour ‘local’ exam at the end of each week.
- All delegates are then required to complete a practical assessment (NGC3) in their own workplacewithin 2 weeks of the course examinations. To achieve the full award, all 3 units must be successfully passed within a 5 year period.
- Unit NGC1 is the prerequisite to both the NEBOSH fire safety and risk management and construction certificates.
- For those who can demonstrate the necessary competence, the NGC award will enablecandidates to achieve “Tech IOSH” status with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health(IOSH) and Associate Membership with the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
